Comrade Oche Calls Out Ottah's Stagnation After Primary Defeat

By: Mike Akatu - Abuja

Youth activist, Comrade Oche Alechenu on Friday publicly criticized Hon. Francis Ottah, the former Nigeria Parliamentarian who represented Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency in the 9th assembly, accusing him of "remaining stuck in the past" following his loss in the 2023 primary election. Posted on his Facebook handle, Alechenu put to Ottah in form of letter-address in quotes; "losing an election can feel like a punch to the gut, and sometimes the wound just wants to stay raw. It's okay to sit with that pain for a while, but you mustn't let it become your permanent guest". That Ottah's continued presence in the public eye with his consistent posts on social media allegedly targeted at Minority Leader of the Nigeria Senate, Comrade Abba Moro despite being out of office, reflects his inability to move forward and live his normal life.

Alechenu continue that "it's still you who fought, failed and with heavy burden dragging you everyday into mud like a bull who lost his sight", he narrated.

Alechenu, a prominent figure in the senator Abba Moro media team, highlighted that Ottah has been attending public events and issuing abusive statements that generates political debate in Benue South. In Alechenu's view, Ottah public outing in the recent do not address Idoma current community needs when contacted. "The people of Idoma are looking up to leaders with concrete development plans, not a politician who is still nursing a lost primary," Alechenu told reporters.

In a post preceding Alechenu's outburst, Hon. Ottah, who served one term before losing the 2023 primary to the London‑based lawyer Barr. Aida Ogwuche—wrote on Facebook: "For selfish interest you killed PDP in Benue South, and we buried it in your house. Come 2027, you will learn in a hard way. No amount of cannabis can help you emotionally!" The post drew both criticism and praise from across the political spectrum.

Political analysts have noted that Ottah's post‑primary activities could influence public perception ahead of the next electoral cycle. A popular media outlet in Benue South known as "Enone Voice" also observed and posted: "Dear Hon Francis Ottah Agbo in as much as I'm ur ardent supporter, the fact is that you're beginning to derail from your course, your continues media attack on Sen Abba Moro is demeaning , it's time  you  focus on ur campaign instead of attacking the outgoing senator...".

The controversy also comes amid growing dissatisfaction among the people of Benue South especially senator Moro who continue to criticize the governor of Benue State under the governance of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia who allegedly continue to marginalize the Idoma Ethnic group more than any other governor before him. Hon. Francis Ottah is currently serving as Point-Man to Governor Hyacinth Alia from Ado Local Government Area to oversees the APC party's structure to galvanize votes before 2027 general election.
