Edo Governor bars Deputy From Govt House as Crisis Worsen

The crisise between Comr. Philip Shaibu the Deputy Governor of Edo State and his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki worsen on Monday 18th September, 2023. Governor Obaseki ordered his deputy to be locked out of the government house on sight, reports says.

The Deputy Governor had reported for duty on Monday morning but with surprised, the entrance and gate to the government house was chained and locked up with key.

Comr. Shaibu was caught up with surprised finding out of all that is going on when one of his assistants disseminated the picture of  Shaibu’s photo who stood in front of his official car at entrance of the locked government house making efforts to solve the situation.

By what is going on between the Governor and his deputy, the public continue to rest in assurance that, one of them will bow out for each other in the party for peace to reign.

SP Ibrahim Babatunde, the Camp Commandant of the Edo State Government House could not give positive answer to Shaibu by the time this report is filed.

Shaibu was also said to have informed the Commissioner of Police and the Director of State Services in Edo clearing them of the situation on ground.
