Fulani Colony - Benue PDP Blast Shetima

By Oche Alechenu __

The Benue chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the Federal Government its intense for the establishment of Fulani Colony in the State under the new Rev. Fr. Hycinth Alia's administration.

Bemgba Iortyom, the Publicity Secretary of Party made this known to the public describing the Federal Government proposal as a "deathly serious nature" and opined that, the people of Benue State will not derail from their stand through the State Anti-Open Grazing Law signed and upholds by the Samuel Ortom's administration.

It is reported that, Kashim Shetima, the Vice Presidenthad was in a public function and caught said that the present Tinubu led government had approved the construction of 1,000 houses in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger and Benue States with every ancillary facilities that will tackle the Fulani Community social welfare which includes public schools, clinics, veterinary clinics and ranches.

The Party made their stand available to journalists in Makurdi on Monday and called on the sitting governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to remove the State from the list with immediate effect and write his name in gold.

Iortyom onbehalf of the party explained that Benue State has never in a day had a peer-to-peer basis to include them amongst the selected states in the lists that Shetima announced which all have almost native Fulani extractions with a particular land grasping where such proposal could be situates.

In the statement issued, it read, "In other words, in those other states it could be natural to have such colonies where a Fulani population is already in situ and which would seamlessly be accommodated therein.

genocidal atrocities committed by those same Fulani are still displaced from their lands and means of livelihood and living in sub-human conditions in camps which bear semblance to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany during 2nd World War.

The party regretted that the promise that former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo made in 2018 on behalf of the Federal Government to resettle those displaced back to their lands and also made a pledge of 10 billion to them never materialised.

That promise by VP Osinbajo has not been fulfilled to this moment and the displaced persons in the IDP camps are still even to date being attacked and killed by Fulani herdsmen right there in the camps and dare not venture near their plundered and desolate ancestral lands to scavenge for food", Iortyom ended.
