ASP Drambi Vandi Sentenced To Death By Hanging: Lagos Court

The Lagos State High Court that sat at the annex of Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos island has convicted and sentenced Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Dramdi Vandi death by hanging. Vandi was  suspended from active Nigeria Police Service for the murder of a pregnant Lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem.

It is recalled that, January 16, 2023, the Lagos State Government was reported to have arraigned Mr Vandi before the Court for shooting to death, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem who was 41-year-old, pregnant and a Lawyer by profession at Ajah underbridge checkpoint on December 25, 2022.

Mr Vandi faced a one-count charge of murder which is contrary to Section-223- of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Reports received from Nigeria Channels TV online, that "beyond all reasonable doubts, Justice Ibironke Harrison held that the prosecution, the Lagos State Government, has proven the case against the convict."

Filing details of the reports, "The court finds the defendant guilty on one count of murder. You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead." the judge pronounced.
