Peter Obi: I would Have Make a Dollar Equals N600

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi has bragged on Monday at Arise TV show that, he would have devalued the Nigeria's Naira currency to N600 to $1 if he had been declared the president of Nigeria.

Mr Obi who described the current status of the currency in the country as the dollars being the "underground currency of exchange", he said.

He pointed out that, he would have drafted serious punishment for people who spend dollars recklessly instead of the country's currency, living the naira in comatous state.

In his words, "nobody floats what you don't have supply of." He frowned and criticised the Tinubu administration's masqueraded variable of the naira in the country.

 He advised that, the new cabinets and agencies of the administration should contemplate through every of their proposed agenda which should includes "exchange rate and inflation."

He further stressed his words that, the naira currency was over-valued and was steadily undergoing pressure in the market, a situation that ranges from low supply which gives and makes way for dollar to have power in the economy of the nation.

He quotes, "we should have devalued to about N600 while managing to deal with supplies and deal with the issues that control the exchange rate."
