Justice Shagbaor Died: A Judge Who Granted Tinubu And Others To Access Electoral Materials

Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh of the Court of Appeal, a native of Benue State; he led the panel that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to grant access to the legal teams of President Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) to go through and inspect the materials used during the February 25, 2023 Presidential Election.
Justice Shagbaor Ikyegh death was confirmed through Mrs Josephine J. Ekperobe who is a registrar of the Court of Appeal, that he passed away at the age of 65 leaving his family behind.

Justice Shagbaor was a graduate of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1980 and got appointed as a judge of the High Court of Benue State, 1991 and subsequently promoted to the Court of Appeal in the year 2010.
According to finding, Justice Shagbaor was a member and part of the 5-man panel that presided over the 2019 Presidential Election Petition between Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari.
The panel stroke out also Atiku's case for lacked of merit of the order of Constitution.
