Tinubu Set To Launch Students Loan Scheme March 14 | National Reporters Online

The Presidency under the watch of Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Ajuri Ngelale, has disclosed to the public that President Bola Tinubu will officially launch the Student Loan Scheme on March 14, 2024.

It is noted that the federal government had voted N50bn in the 2024 budget for the implementation of its said student loan scheme. This is contained in the details of the 2024 budget appropriation as assured by Ngelale.

In his words; "By January 2024, the new student loan programme must commence. To the future of our children and students, we are saying no more strikes.

"To address long-standing issues in the education sector, a more sustainable model of funding tertiary education will be implemented, including the Student Loan Scheme scheduled to become operational by January 2024," said Ngelale.

At TVC’s Politics on Sunday, Mr Ngelale stated that the Scheme which was supposed to be launched in January but will finally commence on Thursday this week.

“Later this week, on Thursday, the President will launch the historic National Student Loan Programme,” he added.

It should be notes that by June 12, 2023, President Tinubu lend his signatory and seek the "Access to Higher Education Act, 2023" into law, to enable indigent students to access interest-free loans for their educational pursuits in any Nigerian tertiary and higher institutions.
